Chesterfield Cadette Girl Scouts committed to creating a butterfly garden in the city's newest park, Eberwein Park—also known as the popular Dog Park.

The scouts' leader said a local nursury would be providing native Missouri plants for the garden, but not donating.

The girls and the leader have been seen on the park's corner of Old Baxter Road and Highcroft Drive, working on the garden.

The park supplies water and hoses for the community gardens at the park, in a separate area.

The Girl Scouts are working toward a top ranking, with the volunteer project of the butterfly garden.
