Happy Birthday Salvation Army!

The Salvation Army turns 146 years-old this week.

Happy Birthday recognition goes out to The Salvation Army. This week the service organization turns 146 years-old.

The year marks the anniversary of the official founding in London, England, according to the organization's U.S. blog site, which states:

"It all started in 1865 when William Booth, a London minister, took his message into the streets where it would reach the poor, the homeless, the hungry and the destitute."

In 1880, The Salvation Army officially established itself in the United States, and by the 1900s, the Army had spread around the world.

Currently it serves in 124 nations.

My cousin's house burned down and she was left with nothing because she didn't have renter's insurance. She was save by a SA clothing and furniture thrift store without having too much of a hit on her wallet. Thanks for being there Salvation Army.
