Photos: Walls Up, Roofs on at Taubman Prestige Outlets

Chesterfield Patch took a tour of the construction site for the outlet mall and company officials said work on the 450,000-square-foot development is on schedule. Check back tomorrow for Q&A with Taubman Development Director Nicolas Schultz.

Taubman Director of Development Nicolas Schultz explained some of the strategy behind the mall's layout. He said the storefronts will not line up, but rather will "undulate," which seems more inviting and allows the store's to develop their own personalities to draw in shoppers.

Representatives with Taubman Prestige Outlets said the malls construction is on schedule for its Aug. 2 opening, with the outer shells for the 450,000-square-foot development nearly completed. 

The mall is being built on a site near the intersection of Boone's Crossing and Chesterfield Airport Road. Just a few miles further west in Chesterfield Valley, construciton has begun on a competing outlet mall, St. Louis Premium Outlets, which is being developed by Simon Property Group and Woodmount Outlets.
