If you've been wondering what's being constructed next to the Drury Plaza hotel in Chesterfield, you might be surprised to learn it's going to be ... another hotel. 

As previously reported by Chesterfield Patch, St. Louis-based Drury Hotels received the green light to start construction of an eight-story, 145-room Hyatt Place on the site last fall. 

The two businesses will share parking lots and a restaurant. According to the St. Louis Business Journal, a second hotel was part of Drury's original plan for the spot and it will operate the Hyatt as a franchise.

Work began on the Hyatt earlier this month and the first elements of the buildings foundational structure are now visible.
