Calling All Plein Air Artists!

Chesterfield Arts calls for artists for Plein Air Missouri, a juried art exhibition highlighting the picturesque communities, wineries and parks found throughout the state of Missouri. By definition, "en plein air" means "in the open air." All paintings must be completed outdoors without the aid of photography. This exhibit will feature the best of Missouri's plein air painters and showcase our great state.

Free opening reception and wine tasting hosted by Noboleis Vineyards on September 6, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at The Gallery at Chesterfield Arts

Entry Fee: Artists may submit up to two paintings for a non-refundable fee of $30.00. Please make checks payable to "Chesterfield Arts."

Specifications:

- All work to be juried must be submitted in person August 21 - 23, 2013 at Chesterfield Arts, 444 Chesterfield Center

- No digital images will be accepted

- Entry fee must be paid by time of delivery, August 21 -23, 2013

- All entries must have been completed "en plein air" and without the aid of photography

- Paintings must have been painted in the last six months

- Paintings must feature a location in the state of Missouri

- Paintings must be ready to hang at the time of jurying

Sales: Chesterfield Arts will handle sales of all artwork and will retain 30% of the sale price. 

Awards: Best of Show - winner will receive an exclusive prize provided by Noboleis Vineyards

Juror: Dan Woodward

Dan Woodward, professional artist and educator, left his home state of Missouri to attend college in California. After a tour of duty in Vietnam in the 101st Airborne and graduation from California State University-Los Angeles, he studied, taught, and painted in Southern California, Mexico, Europe, Africa, the Orient, and the Middle East. His paintings can be seen in public and private collections in the U.S. and abroad. He returned home to Missouri to establish an art museum and gallery in Rolla, housing an American art collection and showcasing regional artists.

During the past 20 years, Woodward has focused on creating original art, which has been featured in such traveling exhibits as Lewis and Clark in Missouri, Impressions of the Civil War in Missouri, African Sojourns, and An American Artist's Impression of Taiwan.
