A Newspaper Reader Spotted in McDonald's

Lunch brings out news junkies.

The Chesterfield McDonald's on Clarkson Road brings out news lovers apparently during the weekday lunch hour.

And this Chesterfield man, who gave his name only as "Jim" was seen reading a newspaper—the Wall Street Journal—on his lunch break in the fast food restaurant this week.

Newspapers are not seen much in public anymore, or being carried about by commuters.

The majority of reading done in public appears to be on personal smartphones—iPhones, Blackberries, for example.

The same McDonald's also has two flatscreen TVs tuned to CNN. Most diners tend to watch the TVs at the fastfood restaurant while eating and drinking.

My name is Steve Pokin. I will be appearing at the public library in Chesterfield at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, reading a newspaper. I will be available for photos from 3:15 p.m. to 3:25 p.m. and will then be available for interviews once I've finished reading my paper. Thank you.

I fail to see how a man at McDonalds reading a newspaper is a story, but your missing the real news story here. The reason why you don't see people reading newspapers anymore is because most have hired left wing agenda hacks ( such as yourself) that aren't capable of reporting a story, just writing biased based dribble. that is why many are or have gone out of business. because the readers got fed up with their mindless dribble and have figured it out. and have cancelled subscriptions, stopped watching nbc and other lamestream media outlets. Look at the numbers and tell me i'm wrong. Just look at your own reporters like john hoffmann and see how a simple story to report on a city ordinance gets turned into an assualt rifle, bazookas and high grade explosives story with absolutely no relevance to the original story he was supposed to write, this alone proves my argument! would you like to try again, Jean I've seen your academic pedigree and am not impressed, but still waiting ( out of amusement) to see how you spin this one?

He's only reading a paper so he can avoid making eye contact with the African Americans that call themselves workers. Equal opportunity employment is garbage. Good for you old guy
