A Newspaper Reader Spotted in McDonald's

Lunch brings out news junkies.

The Chesterfield McDonald's on Clarkson Road brings out news lovers apparently during the weekday lunch hour.

And this Chesterfield man, who gave his name only as "Jim" was seen reading a newspaper—the Wall Street Journal—on his lunch break in the fast food restaurant this week.

Newspapers are not seen much in public anymore, or being carried about by commuters.

The majority of reading done in public appears to be on personal smartphones—iPhones, Blackberries, for example.

The same McDonald's also has two flatscreen TVs tuned to CNN. Most diners tend to watch the TVs at the fastfood restaurant while eating and drinking.
