Drivers in and around Chesterfield Valley can expect to experience a series of delays as the summer roadwork season moves into full swing.

Two lanes will be closed on the eastbound portion of the I-64 Daniel Boone Bridge over the Missouri River next week, according to MoDOT. The two left lanes will be closed from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday while the two right lanes will be closed from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.

Later this summer, the Spirit of St. Louis Boulevard bridge over I-64 will be closed for 30 days as part of the $110.9 million project to construct a new span of the Daniel Boone Bridge.

MoDOT said the purpose of the closure is to raise the existing bridge and alleviate low clearance issues for vehicles passing under the structure.

The closure begins July 8 and runs until Aug. 7. The westbound I-64 exit will at Spirit of St. Louis will remain open. MoDOT is advising motorists to use the Boone’s Crossing interchange to cross I-64 and access the athletic fields, trails and business along N. Outer Road.
