Glaser, Artist with Chesterfield Roots, Advances on NBC's "The Voice"

Caroline Glaser,18, initially lost a winner-take-all vocal duel against another teen contestant, but was picked up by Adam Levine.

If you want to know what it's like to hear Chesterfield teen and NBC's "The Voice" contestant Caroline Glaser sing, just grab some dessert.

"It was as refreshing as a tangerine ice cream," said Shakira, one of the show's vocal coaches, describing Glaser's face-off duet with another contestant.

Glaser, 18, actually lost her battle round with her coach, country star Blake Shelton, picking her opponent to advance. However, she quickly become a hot commodity once again when two more of the show's coaches, opted to "steal" her for their team.

Compared to some of the show's other contestants, Caroline Glaser is young and relatively inexperienced. The indie artist is a KU student who the show described as jumping from coffee house open mics to the national stage with her appearance on "The Voice".

She's also been using social media to chronicle the experience of going from a relative unknown singer to having her songs sold on iTunes herself. You can follow her story on Twitter here and on Facebook here.

Following her televised battle Tuesday, Glaser will advance to the knockout round and will face another fellow contestant in a one-on-one musical duet. The knockout rounds start on May 6 with two, two-hour episodes of "The Voice."
