MoDOT Closing Two Lanes of I-64 in Chesterfield Saturday

The closure affects the westbound lanes and will occur overnight.

Work on the Spirit of St. Louis Boulevard bridge in Chesterfield Valley will force the closure of two lanes overnight on Saturday.

The two lanes impacted are in the westbound portion of the highway, according to a news alert from the Missouri Department of Transportation. The closure will last from 8 p.m. Saturday until 8 a.m. Sunday.

The overnight nature of the closure should help minimize what will likely be increased traffic in the area due to the opening of the 47-store Taubman Prestige Outlets in the Valley Friday

Crews are finishing the work on the Spirit of St. Louis Blvd. bridge, which has been closed to traffic since July 8.  The bridge is scheduled to reopen Wednesday, August 7.

The Spirit of St. Louis bridge work is part of the overall $110.9 million new I-64 Daniel Boone Missouri River bridge being constructed by the Walsh-Alberici Joint Venture.  The entire I-64 Daniel Boone Bridge project will be complete by December 2015.
