Schoettler Road Gets $60,000 Study Toward Upgrades

City ups the study from $25K to $60K; misses out on $8K Federal grant to cover cost.

Chesterfield City Council agreed to undertake a $60,000 study of potential fixes, upgrades, improvement and/or changes for Schoettler Road, a fairly well-used thoroughfare in the city which runs between Highway 40/64 and Clayton Road.

The city increased the cost of the study Monday, up from $25,000, for what they said was a more in-depth study.

Chesterfield's Public Works department described in documents how the road does not meet city standards for drainage, sidewalks, roadway geometry and alignment.
