Trimming Foliage Was Ameren's Business In Area Tuesday

Trucks spotted in several spots.

Ameren, the electrical power company serving the Chesterfield area was trimming trees and other growth around above-ground power lines, Tuesday.

The good weather brought out workers to the limited spots were lines are visible in Chesterfield.

However, last year, a tree fell on power lines behind Monarch Fire Protection District Firehouse No. 1 and took out power to businesses along Clarkson at Baxter roads for several hours. Dierbergs Market Place had the frozen foods section blocked to shoppers last year, to keep doors shut and foods frozen. Otherwise, generators were keeping the store open.

Ameren took a lot of public heat several years ago when a winter ice storm knocked out power to some areas for days. Some called for Ameren to do a better job of trimming foliage away from exposed power lines.
