5 Bands You Can See at Chesterfield's Backstoppalooza

It's the inaugural year for a city concert Aug. 10 at the Chesterfield Amphitheater that will benefit The Backstoppers.

The city of Chesterfield is putting on a show this August at the Chesterfield Amphitheater that will do more than just provide good live music.

Dubbed Backstoppalooza, all proceeds from the concert, which the city hopes to be an annual event, will benefit The Backstoppers, an organization that provides financial aid and other support to the families of police officers and firefighters that have died in the line of duty.

The show is set for Aug. 10 and will be an all-day affair, running from 3-10 p.m. Here are the five bands announced for the lineup:

1) The Jeremiah Johnson Band with the Sliders, 3 p.m. (as heard on SiriusXM Radio Bluesville, Channel 70)

2) Blues Plus with the Sliders, 4:45 p.m.

3) Big Daddy and the Pineapples 6:15 p.m. (classic rock cover band)

4) The Brothers, 8 p.m. (St. Louis' premier Allman Brothers Tribute Band)

5) Tyler Lewis, in a special guest appearance

Tickets are available for a suggested donation of $10 at the Chesterfield Police Department, Monarch Fire Headquarters, Wildwood Pub and Grill, Windowsills Cafe & Marketplace or from Greg Shepard at 314-704-7777. They may also be purchased online at the city's website.

Food and drinks will be available from The Rotary club of West St. Louis County, Wildwood Pub and Grill, and Windowsills Cafe & Marketplace. No outside food or drink will be allowed.

In addition to the City of Chesterfield, sponsors of the event include the Monarch Fire Protection District and the Rotary Club of West St. Louis County.
