Dramatic License Productions presents "Driving Miss Daisy"

Dramatic License Productions offers the following event description:

Dramatic License Productions (DLP), the Chesterfield non-profit, professional theatre and cabaret company brings Alfred Uhry's heartwarming comedy-drama about unconditional friendship, DRIVING MISS DAISY March 10-27. All performances occur at the 85-seat Dramatic License Theatre located at ARTropolis arts district at the upper level Sears wing of Chesterfield Mall.

DRIVING MISS DAISY by Alfred Uhry which centers on the 25-year relationship between Daisy Werthan, an elderly Southern Jewish woman and her African American chauffer, Hoke Coleburn. Uhry received the 1988 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for the play--later made into a popular movie starring Morgan Freeman and Jessica Tandy. It also received a 2010 revival on Broadway starring James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave.

Dramatic License Productions' DRIVING MISS DAISY is directed by Washington University Theatre's Annamaria Pileggi and features Sally Eaton as "Daisy", B. Weller as "Boolie" and the incomparable Dennis Lebby* as "Hoke." Lebby has performed the role four other times at various professional theatres across the country. "With every director, I experience a different take on the character and the play, which keeps it challenging," Lebby said.
