Shakespeare in the Streets
ST. LOUIS (March 22, 2012) -- Shopkeepers and artists are just a few of the Gravois/Benton Park residents who will appear alongside professional actors in a play artfully adapted from William Shakespeare’s The Tempest, titled “The New World,” as part of the inaugural PNC Arts Alive Shakespeare in the Streets scheduled April 27-29. The event, presented by Shakespeare Festival St. Louis, is underwritten by PNC Arts Alive and the National Endowment for the Arts.
The hour-long show will be performed at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, April 27-28, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, at the intersection of Cherokee Street and California Avenue in the Benton Park West neighborhood.
