Chesterfield Arts features St. Louis artist Solomon Thurman in a journey through the history of the Blues. Each painting or "song" in the exhibit will explore structure, spontaneity and improvisation, much like the music that took root in our own Mississippi Delta region and became the "granddaddy" of rock 'n roll and more. Part of the American Arts Experience, a citywide celebration of the arts this October, Blues Style: Imaging Improvisation not only celebrates the individualistic art form of the Blues but also the artist's personal connection to this musical expression through his ancestry.
