Severe Storms Knocks out Power for Chesterfield Homes

A severe storm moved through the Chesterfield area early Friday evening, spawning tornado warnings and reports of possible touchdowns and knocking out power in the area.

According to a Ameren, approximately 300 homes were still without power in 63017 half of Chesterfield as of 9:30 Saturday morning.

Chesterfield avoided the brunt of the storm, with the morning bringing reports of damaged homes, including missing roofs, downed trees and power outages in St. Charles.  There were no immediate reports of injuries.

The storm also dumped plenty of rain, so drivers can expect to encounter flooded roads with a flash flood warning for the area until early Saturday morning issued by the National Weather Service.
