Chesterfield steakhouse Annie Gunn's has been named one of the top 100 restaurants in the country for American cuisine by OpenTable.
An online site for placing reservations and posting reviews, OpenTable released the list last week based on 5 million user reviews of 15,000 restaurants. Annie Gunn's has received 209 reviews with an average rating of 4.6 stars out of 5.
The steakhouse started its life in 1937 as the Smokehouse Market when what is now known as Chesterfield Valley didn't have much beyond cornfields. Chef Lou Rook III helms the restaurant and aims to create "irresistible cuisine with a sophisticated country life accent," according to Annie Gunn's website.
Another St. Louis restaurant, Niche, was also named to the list. Previously located in Benton Park in the city of St. Louis, Niche recently moved to Clayton and has previously received national accolades. Like Annie Gunn's, Niche also an average review of 4.6 stars out of 5 on OpenTable.
