CEO of RGA Hauls in Hefty Compensation Package in 2012

Based in Chesterfield, Reinsurance Group of America's chief executive ranked in the top 500 best-paid CEOs in America.

A CEO at one of Chesterfield’s biggest employers is bringing in some of its biggest bucks. 

A. Greig Woodring earned $6.5 million last year as the Reinsurance Group of America’s chief executive, according to a recent report in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. That amount includes a $1.47 million bonus for the year.

The earnings for Woodring come as RGA, a Fortunate 500 company, . The new complex would be located on a 17-acre parcel on Swingley Ridge Road and would include two five-story office building for a total of 405,000 square feet.

According to Forbes.com, Woodring ranked as 342nd highest paid CEO in America in 2012 and has earned $19.21 million in the last five years. He has been with the company for 33 years and at its head for 19 years. 

The company itself also did well for the year. The Post-Dispatch reported that it increased its per-share profit by 5 percent last year while its share price rose 2 percent.
