Changes at Chesterfield Crossing, Clarkson Square: Goodbye Planet Subs; Hello Kampai Sushi

A round-up of some business moves in the area.

A number of businesses have come or gone in the neighboring strip shopping centers south of Chesterfield Parkway β€” Chesterfield Crossing to the north, and Clarkson Square to the south.

Some of the changes happened in just the past month.

Planet Subs, a sandwich shop that had been in the Clarkson Square strip only about 18 months, closed up about a month ago, according to neighbors. "Thanks for your support and loyal patronage," owners said in a sign posted on the window. "This location is closing." They referred business to stores in Maplewood and St. Peters.

Play-it-Again-Sports, a second-hand sporting goods retailer, closed up shop in the Chesterfield Crossing strip in late August, according to neighbors there. Owners said Β in a window sign that they had relocated the retailer to 234 Mid Rivers Center in St. Peters.

Momoyama, the sushi bar-restaurant that wasΒ a long-time fixture in Chesterfield Commons, closed up and has been replaced by another sushi restaurant called Kampai Sushi Bar. Its window sign says it's hiring.

Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate has moved five doors north in the Clarkson Square shopping center. Watch for a story on Patch tomorrow for more details about that.
