Chesterfield Chamber Announces New Executive Director

The Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce has announced it's finished its search for a new executive director, settling on long-time Chesterfield resident and banker Nora Amato. 

Formerly with Lindell Bank and Trust, Amato will begin leading the organization Oct. 15. Jennifer Hill, chairman of the Chamber's board of directors, said in a press release that Amato brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge of the Chesterfield community and the chamber. 

“She brings a lot of experience and enthusiasm, and I believe she will help our members achieve their goals as well as make the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce the premier chamber in our region," Hill said. 

Amato said she grew up being actively involved in the Chesterfield community and is excited to help the chamber grow. 

"I am looking forward to both expanding our current member relationships and to starting new relationships," she said.  "The Chesterfield Chamber is a strong organization that provides many wonderful opportunities to promote and grow your business throughout the year. I look forward to assisting our members with helping them grow their companies while also growing the Chesterfield business community.”

Amato's appointment comes after a search that began in June, when the previous director, Robey Taylor, left the post after just six months for reasons that were unclear.

Taylor was chosen after a six-month search following the death of Carol Joan Schmelig, a long-time leader of the Chamber and the "First Lady" of Chesterfield. Schmelig was 70 when she passed away from a battle with cancer.
