Closing Sale Set for Art Gallery in Chesterfield Valley

Art Trends Gallery will feature "greatly reduced prices" starting Saturday.

Almost exactly eight years after its founding in the Chesterfield Valley, Art Trends Gallery, an art store and gallery that has supported local causes and artists, will be closing its doors.

The news broke Tuesday as Chesterfield Arts announced on its Facebook page that the gallery would close, followed up by announcements on Art Trends Gallery's Facebook page and website.

"It's a really hard decision to make, but the gallery has just lost so much money over time, that it doesn't make sense to keep it open any longer," said the statement from Kent Kehr, the owner, and Nancy Dorwart, the gallery manager.

The store owners said in their statement that they'd offer a clearance sale from Saturday through April 21. Hours will be Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the last Sunday (April 21) from noon to 5 p.m.

"There will be greatly reduced prices, so now is a good time to get that piece of art you've always wanted," the statement said.
