Golf Tournament Includes Helicopter "Putt"

Chesterfield's Chamber of Commerce promises a "Golf Ball Drop" from a helicopter for its 22nd Annual Golf Classic fundraiser on April 30 this year.

The event will be in Weldon Springs at Persimmon Woods Golf Club.

Tickets for the helicopter ball drop are $20. What is a golf ball drop? A Chamber member described it as "a lot of fun."

When you buy a golf ball, it's marked as yours. Many others may do the same. A helicopter flies over and drops the balls to the ground.

Consider it a putt from the sky.

"The closest ball to the hole wins," according to Kira Somach, Chamber membership director.

The prize is a 3-night, 4-day stay at a Florida beach resort with $700 spending money.

• Closest to the hole
• Putting
• Hole-in-one

Registrations are due by April 20, for planning purposes.

Here's what to pay to play:

• Team of four and green/tee sponsorship: $975
• Team of four without green/tee sponsorship: $775
• Tee/Green sponsorship: $250
• Individual player: $200
• Skins game: $50/team
• Cocktail Party/Awards attendance only: $65/person (For Non-Player)
• Yes, I will donate 150 items for Welcome Bag
• Yes, I would like to donate a door prize/auction items
