Here's Schnucks Again; Looking Good

This big project is looking closer to completion, with wall details.

A boutique Schnucks market under construction on a corner where the communities of Ballwin, and Clarkson Valley converge, now has decorative elements on the outside walls—evidence that the store is closer to completion.

The grocery store is scheduled to open sometime this summer. The first day of summer is today, June 20.

The store is on a former single-family-home residential lot that sat unoccupied for a time, before it was turned commercial, the house razed, all vegetation uprooted, and grading and building began.

Some Ballwin residents whose homes back up to the lot have called for taller fences between the construction site and their own lots.

Other residents have vowed to boycott the grocery store after the city okayed the project.

V-shaped corner location is bounded by Clarkson and Kehrs Mill roads. Part of the project included adding a second left turn lane on Clarkson at an existing traffic light, since an entrance to the parking lot is on Kehrs Mill.

On the other corners are and PNC Bank. Another corner has a gated villa community.
