'Paint and Sip' Business Opens in Chesterfield

A new business has opened in Chesterfield with a mission to bring fine art to the masses, but it’s not through gallery showings or multimedia installations.

Instead, Pinot’s Palette, located at 1641 Clarkson Road, provides what is called a “paint and sip” experience. Guests sign up online to attend a two or three hour painting class where they receive instruction from a local artist on recreating the night’s featured work.

The studio provides all the artistic supplies and stocks a bar serving beer and wine while attendees are invited to bring their own snacks.

The company started in 2009 and has been expanding nationally in recent years. The Chesterfield location, which opened June 14, will be the first Missouri franchise and is operated by St. Louis native Maureen Wilson.

“St. Louis, and especially Chesterfield, is really embracing the arts right now and people are ready for a new way to engage,” Wilson said. “I look forward sharing the concept of fun in my studio, so guests in the St. Louis community can ‘Paint. Drink. Have Fun.’”

Franchisees have access to extensive painting libraries of artwork tested for all skill levels, as well as the ability to create their own paintings to respond to guests’ changing taste in artwork and local trends in their respective communities.
