Restaurant Review Round-Up: Hot Wok Cafe

See what local residents are saying about Chesterfield restaurants.

The restaurant review round-up returns for another week, this time trading the smoke of the barbeque pit for the Szechuan spice of Hot Wok Cafe. The Chinese restaurant also specializes in Peking dishes and is located in a strip mall at 14346 S. Outer 40 Road.

Ann Cerame gave it 4/5 stars and said: "Amazing food at affordable prices. Everything is fresh, service is fast and friendly. This is where I go for comfort food and this restaurant has been recently renovated with a beautiful new decor inside yet the prices are very inexpensive. Enjoy!!!"

From Yelp:

Neil K. gave it 5/5 stars and said: "Best Chinese in St. Louis area hands down. My family has been going here for 20 years and now that the owner's son Andrew has taken over (father still there also) there is an updated new look inside and the food is still great.

"They have the Best Sesame Chicken, not real deep fried with sesame seeds sprinkled on, but chicken pieces sautéed in sesame seeds, unreal!  Awesome crab Rangoon & sizzling rice soup."

Becca S. gave it 3/5 stars and said: "Got takeout the other night. The restaurant is very pretty - I had to wait for at least five minutes before anyone acknowledged that I was there waiting for my food.

"I got general tso chicken, fried rice, and wonton soup with crab rangoon. The chicken wasn't that impressive. The fried rice was okay. The soup was decent, but the crab rangoon was lacking something and all she gave me for "extra sweet and sour sauce" was packets of "sweet and sour" that tasted like chlorine. Probably won't be back."
