Restaurant Review Round-Up: Smitty's Food and Drink

The Restaurant Review Round-Up likes to think "dive bar" is a term of endearment, so this week's it's time to pull up a seat at Smitty's Food and Drink and order some fried chicken.

The Chesterfield watering hole, located at 14874 Clayton Road, has been in business for 25 years and has its attracted a steady crowd of regulars. The dining options specializes in "homestyle" options such as the aforementioned fried chicken along with the standard pub fare.

Ross F gave it 5/5 stars: "The staff and owner are very nice and attentive.  And on top of that the food was fantastic.  If your a burger guy or gal, this place is a must, I personally think its the best in STL.  Ian Froeb definately missed this place when he wrote the article 'Most Underrated Burgers.'" 

Joe K gave it 4/5 stars: "This is a place made up of regulars and older members in the area. I thought it was cozy and small enough to get a drink. Service was chill and food is reasonably priced. Fried Chicken is awesome. Burgers were made fairly well too."

Jenny P gave it 2/5 stars: "Our group went here for an after work happy hour, not sure who chose the location, but I decided to roll with it. The place is dark and old, but has great service and food. Try the catfish special or the turkey melt. The fries are nice and crispy. ... The bad part was our group had to move 2 separate times because the "regular" for that table showed up and gave us the boot."
