Restaurant Review Round-Up: Thai Sawadee

See what people are saying about restaurants and bars in the Chesterfield area.

This week's review round-up is grabbing a booth at Thai Sawadee, located in the Four Season's Shopping Center on Olive Boulevard.

Before we get to the reviews, here's a description of the establishment, courtesy of our directory

"The Thai word for hello is 'sawadee,' and Thai Sawadee wants to welcome patrons to the world of Thai cuisine. After an appetizer and perhaps some noodle soup, sample an item from its entrees, such as spicy eggplant shrimp, ginger sea scallops or spicy basil beef, or choose fried rice or a serving from its signature dishes, such as nam tok beef or Bangkok duck. Patrons will also find many pad thai dishes (stir-fried noodles) and traditional thai curry."

From Yelp

RD H.: "We eat here often and really a enjoy it. Waitstaff is very pleasant and attentive. I usually get Spicy Basil Beef with level 3 spice. Wife has been getting several curry dishes, but now ask they they make her non-menu item Spicy Basil Chicken with a level 4 spice. Always we'll prepared and presented."

Steven S.: "The staff is super friendly. I've been going here for almost 2 years now. I usually just get take out. The cashew beef is my hands down favorite. The pot stickers are very excellent too. The spicy peanut sauce is to die for (for the pot stickers)."

Brian C.: "Seated on a Friday evening. Took almost 10 minutes just to get water. Another 10 minutes went by and we could not get waited on. Gestured to the only two waiters all to no avail. One of the waiters was taking phone orders. The menu was very limited and seemed way over priced."

From Urban Spoon

Michelle C.: "I had the luxury of eating at Thai Sawadee and Addie's Thai in the same week. Bottom-line is that Addie's is far superior. I've eaten at Thai Sawadee twice, and both times I've been underwhelmed with the food and surprised that mediocre quality came with such a high price. This time I had Lemongrass soup and Yellow Curry. Both the soup and the curry were watery."

STLFoodie: "Without fail the service has been excellent and the chef has even come out to chat on occasion  with many of the diners. They accommodate special orders with a smile and go out of their way to be helpful and accommodating for allergy and diet restrictions. The food is fresh and beautifully presented and some of the best Thai food I've ever had."
