After breaking ground in July, Taubman Prestige Outlets Chesterfield is now starting to build its management team for the 450,000-square-foot development.
The St. Louis Business Journal reported Friday that Colleen O'Neil has accepted a position as the general manager for Taubman Prestige Outlets. O'Neil was formerly the marketing director for Saks Fifth Avenue at Plaza Frotenac and will start her new position Oct. 26.
The outlet mall is being built on a nearly 50-acre site near the Boone's Crossing exit off of Highway 40 and is slated to open in early August, two months earlier than initially planned. The development is a partnership between Taubman Centers and OutletPartners LLC, who have already announced that tenants for the mall will include Banana Republic Factory Store, Gap Outlet and J. Crew Factory.
Only a few miles away in Chesterfield Valley, Indianopolis-based Simon Property Group is planning to open St. Louis Premium Outlets next September. It's designed to be the centerpiece of the 131-acre Chesterfield Blue Valley mixed-use development on old Olive Street Road that will also feature office space, hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues.
Simon is currently estimating that the 350,000-square-foot mall will have 85 stores, which it recently announced are now 75 percent committed.
