Taubman Outlet Mall Will Have a 'Doggie Hall of Fame'

In conjunction with the Humane Society of Missouri, the outlet mall will be selling personalized tiles of pet owners' favorite friends at the organization's "Bark in the Park" event May 18.

One of the outlet malls slated to open in Chesterfield this August will be helping the Humane Society of Missouri’s give pet owners a special way to honor their canine companions.

During the Humane Society’s "Bark in the Park" event May 18, Taubman Prestige Outlets will be selling personalized 8-by-8 inch tiles featuring a photo of your dog that will hang in the shopping center’s “Doggie Hall of Fame,” according to a press release. Those who purchase a tile will also receive one to keep in their home and the proceeds will be donated to the Humane Society.

The tiles are one of four major charitable donations Taubman has committed to making in 2013, the release stated, support also going to Food Outreach, Cardinal Glennon Children’s Foundation and the City of Chesterfield.

The other donations include sponsoring Food Outreach fundraising “A Tasteful Affair,” scheduled for April 7; backing for the pledge program “Homers for Health,” which will benefit the SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center; and signing on as a major sponsor for the City of Chesterfield’s 25th Anniversary Celebration.

The shopping center is sponsoring A Tasteful Affair, Food Outreach’s largest fundraising event, on Sunday, April 7.  Taubman Prestige Outlets is backing Homers for Health, the pledge program benefitting SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center, which kicks off April 8 with a first of its kind Game Ball Relay in advance of the Cardinals’ Home Opener.

Taubman’s Chief Operating Officer William Taubman said in the release that his company is focused on making a commitments to the communities where they build their shopping centers.

“We want to be part of St. Louis’ fabric – to give back and support local groups and charities,” he said.

About the Outlets:

Taubman Prestige Outlets is set to open Aug. 2. The $150 million, 450,000-square-foot project will include more than 100 stores on North Outer 40 east of Boone’s Crossing. It is being developed by Bloomfield Hills, Mich.-based Taubman Centers and Warren, N.J.-based OutletPartners LLC.

St. Louis Premium Outlets is set to open Aug. 22. The $100 million, 350,000-square-foot complex will include 85 stores located on the south side of Highway 40 just east of the Daniel Boone Bridge. It is being developed by Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group and Forth Worth, Texas-based Woodmont Outlets.
