Valley's Chick-fil-A Closing Soon for Remodeling, Expansion

During the month-long shutdown, the store is building a new service counter, larger kitchen and two-lane drive-thru.

The hordes of lunchtime diners who descend on the Chesterfield Valley's Chick-fil-A restaurant only have a few more weeks to get their chicken on before the store closes for approximately a month.

Construction is already underway to begin a previously reported remodeling and expansion at the eatery, which typically has a long string of cars lined up in its drive-thru and a packed lobby during the lunchtime rush.

Store owner Jeff Greene said the restaurant will be closing Sept. 14 in order to expand the kitchen by about 500 square feet, re-do the service counter in the store's lobby and expand the drive-thru to two lanes.

Greene told Patch previously that the existing single lane drive-thru will split briefly, allowing customers to order from two separate speaker boxes, and then merge back together for customers to pick up their orders.

He said the store would open sometime between Oct. 10 and Oct. 17. The exact date will depend on the pace of construction and the ability to get city approvals at the time times.

"That perception of pressure and crowding (during lunchtime) will be eliminated with the new remodel," Greene said. "We can still do the same business, but it will feel less crowded and hectic."

Greene also noted: They're hiring.
