Wendy's Hoping to Start Construction of Chesterfield Location in March, April

The fast food chain said if all goes well, they could be open by June or July.

Originally announced early last summer, the Wendy's Restaurant planned for Chesterfield is nearing final approval and officials with the fast food chain said they hope to start construction in March or April.

Wendy’s Construction Manager Andy Blackburn said once they are underway, construction will proceed quickly with an opening possible by June or July “if all goes well.” The restaurant will be located on Chesterfield Airport Road across from Villa Farotta and next to a new Valvoline Oil Change shop.

“We don’t have a strong presence in the Chesterfield area and our Real Estate team has spent a great deal of time looking for the best site to place a new Wendy’s restaurant in Chesterfield,” Blackburn said in an email to Patch. “The demographics for this location fit the target that Wendy’s looks for in a site with a good residential and commercial base.”

While it would be the only one of its kind in Chesterfield, Wendy’s will join a host of other fast food joints in the area that specialize in burgers, including less common franchises such as Smashburger and Cheeburger Cheeburger.

Wendy’s along with Valvoline are part of a larger parcel owned by THF Realty. A representative from the company said they do not have any immediate commitments for the remaining 4.5 acres, but they are actively seeking to develop it.
