What Is Patch?

Some call it an online newspaper. Some call it "the" Patch.

Patch is an online community news website. There is no paper version of Patch, unless you click on a "print" button on the computer screen.

Each town in your area likely has Patch, Chesterfield, Town and Country, Ladue, Kirkwood, Ballwin, Wildwood—and 850 more across the nation.

Launched in February 2009, Patch more than tripled its users in a year, between December 2010 and December 2011.

With the mission of becoming the most trusted source of local news and information, the hyperlocal sites are managed by professional local journalists and photographers.

Patch is also the premier online destination for residents who want to participate in discussions, post announcements and event information, and share their perspectives by blogging on Patch.

It's a good way to get involved in a community. Business owners and advertisers may also benefit from Patch's unique ability to geo-target new and existing customers in the area.

Serving as the eyes and ears for what is happening at the grassroots level across the country, Patch is in more than 850 communities in 22 states, plus Washington, D.C.
