Logan University Appoints Directors, Dean

Logan University has announced the appointments of Shelly Chanitz as Director of Human Resources; Dr. David Parish as Director of Logan University’s BIOFREEZE® Sports & Rehabilitation Center; and Dr. Sherri Cole as Dean of Health Sciences at Logan University.

Chanitz brings more than 20 years of professional experience in human resources to her new position including a strong background in recruitment, benefits administration, employee relations, employee development and supervisory training. 

Most recently, she served as director of human resources at the Jewish Federation of St. Louis. Previously, she held various human resource leadership positions at Edward Jones, Nine West and the Venture Stores, and was a career consultant and manager for The Impact Group.          

Dr. Parish has extensive experience in chiropractic sports injury care and rehabilitation including work as a team physician with professional, college and high school sports teams. 

He served as one of the Team USA physicians at the ParaPan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2011 and the Paralympics in London in 2012.  He also holds a Diplomate from the American Board of Chiropractic Sports Physicians (ABCSP) and is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).

For the past 17 years, Dr. Parish has been affiliated with National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Ill., where he was an assistant professor of clinical practice.  Since 2006, he has served as National’s dean of clinics and is also member of the faculty at National’s Lincoln College of Postprofessional Graduate & Continuing Education.  

Before joining Logan, Dr. Cole spent six years as the dean of allied health and professional development at Aultman College of Nursing and Health Sciences in Canton, Ohio.

While in that position, she developed the school’s allied health division within the Aultman College of Nursing and Health Sciences and was also an associate professor on the Aultman faculty, teaching radiation physics. 

Dr. Cole served as director of radiology at Aultman Hospital from 2001 to 2007 and, prior to that time, worked for several hospitals in Ohio as a registered radiologic technologist and mammographer.  She is a decorated military veteran.
