A New Green Thumb

The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center is pleased to announce Kevin Reilly as Manager of the Integrated Plant Growth Facility

The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center is pleased to announce Kevin Reilly as Manager of the Integrated Plant Growth Facility as of January 25, 2013.  Kevin received his B.S. in Microbiology from University of Georgia and his M.S. in Molecular & Cellular Biology/Professional Masters in Applied Biotechnology from the Oregon State University.  Kevin comes to us from Todd Mockler’s Lab at the Center and brings his experience and dynamic leadership in Project, Lab and Personnel Management and plant care to his new role of Manager our Plant Growth Facility Team.

The Danforth Center's Plant Growth Facility (PGF) is a state-of-the-art facility built for research product development. It includes 49 controlled environment plant growth chambers/rooms and 28 greenhouse compartments attached to the main building by a fully enclosed corridor. Computer controlled systems continuously monitor environmental greenhouse and chamber conditions and alert PGF staff if conditions deviate from programmed parameters. The staff provides daily care of plants according to specified conditions so that researchers are able to focus more completely on their science and not on plant care.
