Miles Against Melanoma 5k and 1 Mile Honor Walk

We invite you to participate in our 3rd Annual Miles Against Melanoma
Walk/5K Run. The event will take place on Saturday June 8th from 7:30-11:30am at the Chesterfield Amphitheater. 

Miles Against Melanoma is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to fight melanoma skin cancer by increasing awareness, supporting patients, survivors and their families, and fundraising for research. The event will raise funds and
awareness, while providing an atmosphere of family fun.

Music will be provided by the national touring act, Madison Letter. A ceremony will occur after the race to honor those who are fighting melanoma, a survivor of melanoma or an angel who is no longer with us. Join us for food trucks, children's activities, snow cones, fun and of course, a dermatologist to do skin checks, a dermaview to see the sun damage you already have incurred and information on melanoma and skin cancer. Mario, Batman and a suprise Disney Princess will be there to cheer your family on!

During our 2012 event we were able to present several families who
have been financially devastated by melanoma with funds to make their
life a bit easier. One such family had just lost their husband and
father weeks before the event. The generosity of our sponsors and
participants allowed Miles Against Melanoma to present a check to
Jason's widow that would benefit his young children.

One person dies of Melanoma every hour. Of the seven most common
cancers in the United States, melanoma is the only one whose incidence
is increasing. About 86 % of melanomas can be contributed to exposure
to ultraviolet radiation from the sun. Miles Against Melanoma is
devoted solely to combating the world's most common cancer, now
occurring at epidemic levels. Your help enables us to take another
step towards achieving this core purpose!
