Find Out About $8.3M Roadwork On Kehrs Mill-Long Road-Wildhorse Creek

Chesterfield City Hall hosts a question and information exchange Wednesday with County Highways and Traffic Department.

County planners will give residents in Chesterfield on Wednesday, the opportunity to find out about a year-long roadwork project on Kehrs Mill, Long Road, and Wildhorse Creek.

The work is slated to cost $8.3 million. It is expected to begin early spring and end by June 2013.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. in Chesterfield City Hall at 690 Chesterfield Parkway West.

The re-alignment of the three roads should improve traffic flow and sitelines for drivers. Officials said 32,000-plus drivers use these three roads every day.

The changes include:

  • Wildhorse Creek Road will “T” into Kehrs Mill

  • Kehrs Mill will extend to sweep to the northwest to connect with Long.

  • A traffic light will be added to the intersection of Kehrs Mill Road south and Wild Horse Creek (T intersection)
  • Kehrs Mill Road south at Wild Horse Creek Road will close June 15 for 30 days—to build a new 10-by-8 foot concrete box culvert under Kehrs Mill Road south, and related roadway construction.
  • Final project completion date will be the latest of June 30, 2013
  • or 90 calendar days after Missouri American Water Company completes their work within the project construction limits
  • or 21 calendar days after Central Midland railroad completes the crossing work on Long Road.

Gershenson Construction Company has been contracted for the County project.
