Get Out: Run a 5K or Get the Kids Involved in Shakespeare

Your weekend planner for March 24 through 27.

Incarnate Word Parish Fish Fry  
When: 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday
Where: , 13416 Olive Blvd.
Why go: Don’t skip a Meatless Friday! Enjoy fried Icelandic cod and butterfly shrimp at this popular fish fry. There’s also a selection of sides, bread and spaghetti for those that don’t like fish. Bulk fish and carryout is available.
Cost: $8 for a full dinner, $6 for a fish sandwich, $4 for a limited dinner and $1 per side

Hare in the Air Egg Hunt  
When: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday
Where: Logan College of Chiropratic, 1851 Schoettler Rd.
Why go: The Easter Bunny arrives in style to this egg hunt. He flies in my helicopter at 11 a.m. The egg hunt is divided into age groups for children 2 to 8. Kids will enjoy balloon artists and a petting zoo, too. We’ll be there snapping photos for our Viewfinder slideshow, a weekly photo gallery that runs on Thursdays. If you see Patch, say hi!

Shakespeare Festival Partnership Classes
When: Class time varies by age group; classes run for an hour and a half on Saturdays from this weekend until April 23
Where: , 444 Chesterfield Center
Why go: Think the kids need a break from TV and video games? Try giving them a dose of Shakespeare. Classes are available for first- through fourth-graders, fifth- through seventh-graders and eighth- through tenth-graders. Each class focusese not only on Shakespeare’s work, but also on props, costumes, set design and character development for actors.

Family Bingo benefitting the Whole Planet Foundation
When: 12 to 3 p.m. Saturday
Where: , 1160 Town and Country Crossing Dr.
Why go: Families can play bingo and win fun prizes from the prize wheel. Proceeds benefit the Whole Planet Foundation, which funds microlending programs in communities in the developing world in an effort to eliminate poverty.
Cost: $5 donation to the foundation

Maryville Race Against Violence 
When: 1 p.m. Sunday
Where: Maryville University’s campus, 650 Maryville University Dr.
Why go: Run a 5K, or participate in the 5K walk or one-mile fun run. All proceeds go to Safe Connections, which helps victims of domestic violence.
Cost: $5 for Maryville students and children 12 and under, $20 for non-students. Register online by 11:59 p.m. Friday, or on the day of the event at 12 p.m. in the Donius University Center.
