Police Mum On Fatal Hit-and-Run Questioning

Police have interviewed a so-called "person of interest" in the hit-and-run death of a 23-year old Amber Wood who worked at Chesterfield's

Wood was struck and killed early April 27 by a grey Pontiac in the 700 block of Broadway as she crossed the street with friends, officials said. Her mother, Georgie Busch, identified her body at the scene.

Police later found the suspected car abandoned near a junk yard in Madison, Ill.

There has been little information since the announcement May 2 of a person of interest. Early witnesses reported two people were in the vehicle that struck Wood.

d knew Wood's mother, Busch, through the wine business.
