Mother of Hit-and-Run Victim Wants Killer Caught

Mom pleads at spot where a car mowed down 23-year-old, who worked in Chesterfield.

Local TV stations report the mother of 23-year-old Amber Wood is pleading for information about the driver of a car that struck and killed her daughter early Friday in St. Louis.

The victim, Wood, worked as a server at Chesterfield's . Her mother Georgie Busch is friends with manager of Edgewild, Chris LaRocca, throught the winery business. Busch is the events planner for Chandler Hill Winery in Defiance, MO.

Busch pleaded her case in front of the Osyster Bar Monday morning in the 700 block of Broadway in St. Louis, according to KSDK TV Channel 5.

"I'm here today because someone murdered my daughter," Busch said. "If you know who that person is, or if you know anything, please turn them in. I'm asking you to put this person that murdered my daughter in jail."

Wood was thrown 80 feet, police said. They identified from surveilliance video the killer-car as a grey or silver Pontiac Grand Am, with two men in it.

Wood's brother, Chris Busch, asked members of the public during the press conference Monday to call St. Louis Police Detective Bureau 314-444-2200 or Crimestoppers 866-371-TIPS if you know anything about the case.

Police said there is a memorial fund set up with First Community Credit Union.
