Overnight Lane Closures on Highway 40 Start Thursday

The lanes will be closed at the Spirit of St. Louis Boulevard bridge.

Lanes on Highway 40 near the Spirit of St. Louis Boulevard bridge will be closed overnight for about a week to paint the bridge.Β 

The Missouri Department of Transportation said in a press release that up to two lanes will be closed, weather permitting. Starting Thursday, one westbound lane will close at 7 p.m. A second lane will then close at 9 p.m., and all lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. the next day.

This will happen nightly through Sunday night. The closures on westbound Highway 40 should be complete by 5 a.m. Monday, the release stated.

Then, crews will close eastbound lanes in the same pattern. One eastbound lane will close Monday at 7 p.m. A second lane will close at 9 p.m. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. Eastbound lane closures should be complete by 5 a.m. on May 13.

The work will be done by contractor St. Louis Bridge Company, the MoDOT release stated.
