Sex Acts with Student Brings Parkway Central Ex-Coach Second Sentencing
Friday's state sentencing adds to his previous conviction in Federal court for crossing state lines with a minor for purposes of having sex.
Former coach Brent Woody, a substitute teacher who was already sentenced to 12.5 years in federal prison for transporting a minor across state lines to engage in sexual activity, was sentenced Friday to seven years in prison after pleading guilty in St. Louis County Court to 15 counts of statutory rape.
Many jurisdictions now use the term "sex with a minor." Woody will serve the terms concurrently, according to the Office of State Court Adminstrator's website, Casenet.
Woody was He coached 9th grade girls basketball, track, and sometimes worked as a substitute teacher.

A guilty plea in the federal case came in October 2011.

The letter said Woody did not apply to work with Parkway for the 2010-2011 school year.
The district's website also shows that Woody underwent two background checks that revealed no previous misconduct. The district's site states background checkes are conducted on all new employees.
