Patch Picks: Celebrate Dad with a Fun-Filled Father's Day

Chesterfield offers a wide selection of restaurants and activities so you can treat dad to a day he will always remember.

Fathers stand by the sidelines cheering at every soccer game. They teach us how to ride a bike and how to drive a car, providing Band-Aids and hugs along the way. Once a year, the opportunity presents itself to honor dad for all of his hard work and commitment, so don’t settle for just a measly wrapped present. Chesterfield Patch has picked the top places in Chesterfield to spend a memorable day with dad.

First Watch: 120 Hilltown Village Center
Start off the day with breakfast at this classic and healthy daytime café, also open for brunch and lunch.  The restaurant will be celebrating Father’s Day by offering a complimentary Nike golf ball emblazoned with the First Watch logo.
Father’s Day hours: 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The Butterfly House Pollinator-Palooza is the perfect family activity, especially for younger kids. Visitors will learn how bees affect the earth through games, demonstrations and crafts. The event is free with admission. Afterwards, spend the day exploring the rest of the Butterfly House or strolling through . Don’t miss the located on the grounds of the park, which includes more than 60 hand-carved horses and deer.
Father’s Day hours: Butterfly House Pollinator-Palooza is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Butterfly House and Carousel are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The park closes 30 minutes after sunset.
Admission to the Butterfly House: $6 for general admission, $4.50 for seniors, $4 for ages 3 to 12. Children 2 and under and Missouri Botanical Garden members get in free.

If you haven’t explored Chesterfield’s newest addition, spend Father’s Day on a picnic in Central Park. Splash around with dad at the located on the outskirts of the park, and then cool down with a refreshing lunch or dinner at the pavilion. Check out the amphitheatre and The Awakening, a sculpture kids can climb on. Cap the excursion off with a walk by the lake. 
Father’s Day hours: The park is open until dusk. The pool is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Pool admission: $3 for children over 2 and seniors, $4 for adults. After 5 p.m., admission is half price.

Spend an hour or two with Dad biking on the Monarch-Chesterfield Levee Trail, a 3.8-mile paved trail extending from the Hardee's IcePlex to behind the Chesterfield Commons shopping center. With few hills, this trail makes for a leisurely ride overlooking the Chesterfield Valley. Take a break by biking across the street and enjoying a movie with dad at the . If dad’s feeling really adventurous, let him release his inner child, and play a game of laser tag with him at .
Father’s Day hours: The trail is open from dawn to dusk. Sports Fusion is open from noon to 6 p.m. Movie times vary.

Satisfy dad’s sweet tooth with a delicious concrete at this local alternative to the famous Ted Drewes. Let him load up his own original concrete with toppings and mix-ins and sit on the outside benches, enjoying the beautiful summer weather while staying cool with his frozen custard.
Father’s Day hours: 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Take the whole family out for dinner to feast on pasta, salad and garlic bread at the Old Spaghetti Factory. Enjoy a classic plate of spaghetti or maybe even fettucini alfredo, and don’t forget to take advantage of the restaurant's numerous appetizer options.

Let dad explore his more exotic palette by dining with him at this authentic Indian restaurant. In honor of Father’s Day, the house chef will offer a wider selection of dishes for the lunch buffet, including chicken masala, kofta or mango lassi and the usual favorites.
Father’s Day hours: Brunch-11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinner-5 to 9 p.m.
