Power Outage Culprit Uncovered Right Behind Firehouse and Church

Evidence remained along Old Clarkson Road.

The location of an uprooted pine tree that caused a blackout Wednesday in a commercial area of was spotted cut up along Old Clarkson Road later.

Ameren reported the uprooted pine tree fell on heavy feeder lines, and caused the outage about 11:45 a.m. on Nov 9. Ameren said the primary line was back supplying power an hour later, but some customers said they did not have power until at least 2 p.m.

Winds gusted up to at least 25 mph Wednesday.

Ameren said they sent workers Wednesay to take the tree off the power lines, and cut it up.

Downed pine branches and sawed logs were visible Friday at a spot were an orange traffic cone sat along the road. Wires above had distinct loops on them, that may or may not be indications of repair.
