Slain Children, Mother, Members of St. Joseph Catholic Church

Pastor speaks on behalf of faith community in apparent murder-suicide.

The Archdiocese of Saint Louis tells Patch that Christine Adewunmi, 37, and her three children Kate, 3, Samantha, 6, and Lauren, 8, were members of the  parish in Manchester.

 Leonard Adewunmi reported his wife and daughters missing Friday evening.

A spokesperson told Patch that 's pastor is meeting with others of the family.

Fr. Tom Santen, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, released the following statement in an email Monday night.

We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic loss of life involving one of the families in our parish community.
During this very difficult time, we are keeping the family in our thoughts and prayers.
Grief counseling will be made available to parents and teachers of our grade school, as well as our PSR program. 
Out of respect for the family's privacy, funeral details are not being disclosed.

The church is located just south of Manchester Road off Sulphur Spring Road. The Archdiocese also confirmed the children were involved in the .

The family lived in the Arbor Bluff Subdivision just off Big Bend Road, in Ballwin.

Archdiocese officials are waiting to release any additional information on the family, a special service or funerals.

Additional information may be released in the future depending on the family's wishes, according to a spokesperson.

For now, they are asking for privacy as the family deals with the tragedy.
