St. Louis Family Church Hosts Colorful Kids Camp

Around 2,000 children dressed in all the colors of the rainbow turned out for the second week of St. Louis Family Church's 17th annual JUMP! camp event.

The SΒ in ChesterfieldΒ is currently hosting the second week of its 17th annual camp for kids. The daily theater productions feature bible stories and are designed to teach children about events in the life of Jesus, the theme for this year's camp. The camp also features water park activities, crafts and more.

The first week of the camp challenged organizers with intense sunny days and record-high temperatures, while the current session promises to be much cooler and frequently rainy.

"There is a fully developed inclement weather plan that includes fun indoor activities for all the kids," Keith Troyer, the chuch communications director, wrote in an email. The chuch campus has four buildings to provide space for the hundreds of campers and adult volunteers.

The last day of the camp is Thursday. Friday night, there's a special event planned for JUMP families. All the skits from the camp will be presented at one time, and there will be a outdoor party afterward.
