Veterans Populate Dierbergs for Charity
Local Marines dedicated to fundraising for others.
U.S. Marine veterans from Pvt. Geo Phillips Detachment Marine League spent Friday—Veterans Day—outside the doors of Dierbergs Market Place in Chesterfield, playing patriotic music and gathering donations for 21 organizations that help veterans and their families.
The sunny, warm weather encouraged conversation and donations. Last year was rainy and cold, one veteran said.
The organizations benefiting from the donations include: Marine Parents, American Red Cross, Missouri Veterans Home, Adopt-A-Platoon, Toys for Tots.
