Parkway Central Claims Water Main Break; Water Co. Says No Main Break

American Water says no record of main break, yet Parkway Central moved concert to Parkway North Friday because the water was off.

While Parkway Shool District officials said there was no running water in Parkway Central High School Friday afternoon, American Water said there was no record of any water main break in the Woods Mill Road area of Parkway Central High.

"It could be they are referring to a service line going to the school, which is owned by the school," said Ann Dettmer, media spokeswoman with American Water. "I just don't know of any."

Parkway district spokeswoman Cathy Kelly had little information, saying she "had the impression" the water would be on by Monday when school started up again. Neither did she believe Friday classes had been cut short due to water problems.
