In a few weeks, community members will paint a 500-foot mural on the Monarch-Chesterfield Levee wall. But you’ve got a chance to get in on the fun early!
Chesterfield Patch is hosting a coloring contest featuring scenes from the Make Your Mark Project mural. Artist Stuart Morse and more than 50 area students , which captures the Chesterfield area’s history and present in a creative and colorful way.
It’s easy to enter your kid(s) the coloring contest (and if you want to enter, too, you’re more than welcome). Choose from one of three coloring pages to print. You can print them by clicking on the PDFs attached to this article, selecting the one you want, and clicking "print" at the top of the pane. They're also available on the Chesterfield Patch scribd.com page: the airplane, hot air balloons, or a girl with flowers. Click the button on the right side that says “print.”
Your child can color the page however he or she wants. We’re picking winners at random, so staying in the lines is optional! Make sure your child’s name, age, and hometown, and a parent’s name and email address, is written somewhere on the front (we're not picky about where)!
Once their masterpiece is done, you can enter in one of two ways. If you have a scanner, scan the page and email it to me (the Chesterfield Patch editor) at email@example.com. You can also drop it off at , 444 Chesterfield Center. They’re open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
The contest starts now and lasts through June 2 at 5 p.m. Winners will be chosen by a random drawing. We’ll contact the winners via email on June 3. We’ll publish the winners’ masterpieces—along with their first name, age, and hometown—on Chesterfield Patch after all winners have been notified.
Just what might you win, you ask? Well, one grand prize winner will receive a children’s pottery wheel kit, complete with clay, paint and sculpting tools. Three first place winners will receive a $15 gift card to for their next art project.
