Author and Chef Releases New Book Full of Culinary Adventure

Author and chef Karen
Blumensaadt-Stoeckly will kick off a tour for her new book, “A Culinary Legacy
From Escoffier to Today,” on Sunday, May 4, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Le
Creuset Outlet Store in St. Louis Premium Outlets in Chesterfield, Mo. A
cooking demonstration of select recipes will take place and a book signing will
follow.

“A Culinary Legacy From Escoffier to
Today,” is far more than just a typical cookbook. It’s a journey into the daily
life of a small village in Provence, France through its food, scenic
photography, and the interpretation of 100-year-old recipes by the renowned
French chef Auguste Escoffier. This book ties together the writing and work of
a young Escoffier - trained chef of the late 1800s to the culinary endeavors of
his granddaughter and a classically trained chef in 21st- century America.

“Auguste Escoffier is perhaps the most
distinguished and respected name in the culinary world – no other figure in
history has done more for the development and modernization of culinary arts,”
said Paul Ryan, President of Auguste Escoffier Schools of Culinary Arts.  “’A Culinary Legacy’ makes Escoffier’s
ideas and recipes user friendly for the professional cook as well as the home
cook.”

Each recipe is offered in a simple
step-by-step process, with alternate suggestions often given for ingredients
and procedures. The recipes are today’s version of what a young chef created
over 100 years ago in kitchens along the Mediterranean Sea and later in elegant
hotel kitchens of America.

The recipes you will find in this book
range from scrumptious handcrafted breads to devilishly delicious chocolate
cake, making “A Culinary Legacy” a staple cookbook every cook can use.
