Little Wishes Shopping Extravaganza

Thousands of children remain in foster care wishing for that Big Wish… a forever family.  Area residents may not have room in their homes, but the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition announces that they can still help children in foster care by granting their wishes of a first bike, a new doll, books, or even a trip to the Science Center or the movies.

The goal of the program is to make the holidays brighter for area foster children. 

Little Wishes, a partnership among Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition, KSDK NewsChannel 5, and Walmart in Kirkwood, raises donations from the public to grant the wishes of Metro St. Louis children in foster care.  There are three simple ways to grant wishes for foster children:

  1. Grant a wish easily from home!  Visit www.foster-adopt.org any time before December 21st, and choose from thousands of wishes ranging from $35 to $200.  Just Click to Give!
  2. True shop-a-holics can go to the Walmart in Kirkwood on Little Wishes Shopping Day, Saturday, December 4th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m
  3. Shoppers can also help grant that Big Wish of a forever family by purchasing a Wish Upon a Star ornament at Walmart or online for only $10.  all ornament purchases as well as other contributions will help Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition find forever families for foster children.

One foster child named Ericka wrote to a Little Wishes donor:  "Just to know that someone else cares, especially someone who doesn't even know me, means more than words can express.  Thank you so much!"  There are dozens of ways to help children in foster care, from granting a Little Wish, to volunteering, to adoption.  St. Louisans can find the perfect way to get involved by visiting www.foster-adopt.org.
